Summary0002466: Red alert to next mission isn't working properly
DescriptionAfter playing through 'The Last Hurrah' on Silent Threat Reborn the player jumps out as suggested to avoid an ambush. Instead of jumping to the next mission (which is the red alert mission involving the Krios getting bombed) it goes to the desertion debrief.

Pressing continue allows the player to go the next mission regardless, but will not take into account conditions at the end of the last mission e.g. player ship, hull integrity, wingmates dead or alive etc.

Not a major problem but it will result in Gamma wing being absent which eliminates some fairly essential mission dialogue.
Additional InformationThis bug doesn't appear on 3.6.12 final, it appears to be limited to 3.6.13 from what I can tell. I used nightly 7260 and reproduced this at least ten times if not more. Reproduced a couple of times on some older 3.6.13 nightlies (7100 and up).

Ran a debug build, no error messages or assertions. Ran with Silent Threat, fsport_mediavps, fsport and mediavps_3612.

You will have to play the mission to reproduce it. Difficulty level doesn't have any affect so feel free to slap on Very Easy and time compress.

Should clarify a bit more: by Gamma wing absent I mean the entire wing is dead, which I'm sure shouldn't happen. Just ran 'Betrayed' (the red alert mission) from the tech room and noticed the default player ship is a Herc. When playing Last Hurrah and reproducing the bug the player ship turns into a Valk, Gamma wing is dead and Alpha wing is also dead, aside from the player obviously.

Mantis Issue 2462 seems to have some parallels to this.

Yes it does, I happen to have seen this issue while using an ant 8 build. not in STR mind you but it was clearly the same issue

I've just tried to reproduce this four times on r9677 without success. i.e. play through ST:R until 'The Last Hurrah', save pilot files, play mission, enter red alert mission, exit, restore pilot files from backup, replay 'The Last Hurrah', repeat. Also tried "replay last mission" from the red alert mission brief, still didn't trigger the bug after completing 'The Last Hurrah'.

Based on your testing and the description, I'm certain your hypothesis is correct. This is a duplicate of 0002683. The dates and revision numbers are all consistent.

I'll go ahead and resolve this as a duplicate.
