Summary0002435: GeForce GTX 560 Ti > Antialiasing has not effect and text (subtitle letters) is in boxes
DescriptionNo matter what I've tried (resolution, depth, filters, aliasing, anisotropic, font fix etc.) the text doesn't see to loose those ugly lines around it.

Also (and forgive of mentioning both here) no matter what I set as the antialiasing setting, it seems to have no effect.

Screenshot is from Blue Planet 2 mod but same applies with no mods.

OS: Windows 7 (64bit)
Video: 1920x1200 (made no difference)

This is the "out-of-the-box" install as Open Installer deployed.

Thanks

I should note that the problem(s) remains in 3.6.13. 7180 (nightly)

Setting anti-aliasing via NVidia control panel works.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a Launcher option to "Fix Font Distortion"

Launcher side AA in windows currently does nothing, which we are aware of.
(it wouldn't apply to Post Processing anyway, save that we now have FXAA shaders)

Closing Issue.

That was a bit bash-and-go, the launcher issue I understand. It's not mentioned anywhere hence the issue, maybe a note in the forums?

The fix-font I've tried and does nothing. The blocked letters remain. Hence me re-opening the issue.

Sorry to be a pain - but surely not a "fixed" status.

Okay, we'll try this then:
The issue with the font (as presented in the forum) is that it's non-scalable.

We would need to replace the font system entirely to make that issue go away in widescreen/non 1024*768. Or, using the "Fix Font Distortion" option.

Further, the "Fix Font Distortion" does work. Perhaps run the Launcher as Administrator to set it.

(Also running Windows 7 64bit, no boxes around fonts, so yes, it works)
