Summary0001899: weapon models (with rotation) sometimes crash the game or behave oddly
Descriptionwhile removing bugs from nukemod i found that some of my gatling guns were crashing the game. i spent alot of time looking for a specific pattern to it. i think i found one. i only get crashes if the gun is on bank 2. if the gun is on bank 3 is fired, the shots are heard but the gun does not produce any shots and there is no muzzel flash. bank 1 fires fine. the crash occures after the gun as spun up right when the shots are being created. i also checked that it didnt have anything to do with the rate of fire or the models themselves. the weapons seem to work fine in debug builds, and as far as recent versions of fred and fs2, the mod is currently bug free (of any bugs that have associated error messages).

odd behavior seems to still be occuring in 3.6.10 rc1. so far it seems to have the same effect in both debug and release builds. i can only fire from such a weapon if its in bank one. if its in any other bank it will make the sounds, but it wont fire. crashes seem less likely (they were almost certain before when firing bank 2) but i was able to cause a crash firing bank 3 on one of my ships. i also attempted this without rotation values applied with the same effect.

also as of yet i havent found anything wrong with secondary weapon models.

Nuke... when you post bug reports which happen to use rather specific features or models (like gatling things) it would be quite polite to provide at least links to places where the material could be downloaded from. Specific model with which you encountered the issue yourself would certainly be a bonus.

yea probibly, i would throw up a link to the current nukemod release but it hasnt been debuged aganst current builds. the internal version has but its pending some more content. i could probibly rip out a ship and some gfx for fixing this but within an hour or two.

the pc chimera in all its overly pixeled glory. firing in linked mode crashes the game, firing the first garm cannon works normally, firing the second makes noise, uses ammo, but doesnt shoot or produce muzzel flash (note this test mod doesnt have muzzelflashes in it). firing the 3rd bank in linked mode or otherwise, crashes the game.

Ok.. when testing with the data from the link game tried to use non-existing data from the external weapon model. Should be fixed now.
