Summary0000715: Soundtrack pieces switch too early
DescriptionThe game switches between music pieces much earlier than it should and often cuts a music file short. This can be seen with both the ambient and the battle soundtracks. It's supposed to keep playing the music file up to the point specified in music.tbl, and only stop it before that point when switching between two music "modes" (i.e. the ambient, battle, enemy arrive and victory states). However, the music files currently always get cuts off halfway through, even when the "mode" has not changed, and the soundtrack sounds quite strange as a result.

This seems to be related to 0000641 and may be a variation of that bug. This occurs in the 1/09 build.

I think it will be fixed in the next CVS build so give it a try. I'm going to leave this bug open until you can confirm it's fixed though.

And it was related to the same basic problem as before, although this time it was just incorrect math from the original coder rather than stupidity on my part. :)

Goober seems to have found this again.

I tested it last night, and it suddenly seems to work properly. It looks like this is another of those annoying works-in-release-not-in-debug bugs. I'll see if I can get an audio capture tonight.

So is this still an issue or was it a one time thing?

Well, audio capture wasn't working. I'll give it another try and see what happens.

Might as well close this. If I notice it again I'll reopen it.

Marking resolved, as it was originally.
