Summary0001886: Changing ship/wing name while event editor open results in fields not being updated
DescriptionWhile doing some directive events I realized there was a typo in a wing name so I changed it in the wing editor while the event editor was open. On mission save several warnings about the wing name with the typo missing popped up. Changed it without the event editor open and it works fine. Tried it with ship names as well. I'm guessing this will occur with all kinds of things.
Additional InformationFRED 3.6.10 r5063. To reproduce just pop a couple of ships in and make them a wing. Then open the wing editor then the event editor. Add a simple event like is-destroyed-delay <wing> do nothing then change the wing name. Doesn't seem to matter if you exit the event editor and go back in or not between adding the event and changing the name.

Not sure if anything can even be done about this one.

I didn't even think you were supposed to have two editors open at the same time. Doesn't it normally prevent that?

It's possible and very helpful at times. I broke it before too by doing the same type of thing with both the ship and wing editor open. I was just in both and noticed the solution to that one seems to have been removing the ability to edit the ship name while the wing editor has focus. Maybe the same type of thing can be done to the ship and wing names if the event editor has focus.

If you're on about this bug

I never actually fixed it.

Maybe I just got used to doing it the right way because I haven't run into that one in ages. I do edit entire wings of ships like that quite frequently especially when doing testing stuff.

Probably another feature for Fred 4.0 or wxFRED or whatever it is called.
