Partially there as of 5702. Mechanic needs to be established by the builder for how to update the Revision data. This also works on outputting version numbers on FRED logs as well. Currently, only Build Type (SSE/SSE2/INF) listing is currently missing, but users should be able to report (especially with the different icons available) which of the two they are running, which leaves reporting INF vs Non-INF and if the idea is to make INF the new Standard, then it would be a short lived modification. |

Yes I can. The build system does build-time injection of the revision at this point, for official nightlies and releases. It doesn't help those doing their own checkouts, but I think this does what the spirit of this ticket was intended to help with. I guess I should know, since I filed it :P Guess I should add though, I don't believe there is a place to inject the SSE status of the build at this point. However, I'm not sure if that's nearly as useful as the revision injection is. I'll wait to see if Zacam thinks we should attempt to get that too before closing this. |
