|Description||Particles from Hornet trail and any impact spew, cause massive fps drop. I managed to stop the Hornet problem by extracting the modular table file from MV_effects and commenting out the spew data, but this doesn't fix the slowdown problem, where it affects impact particle spew. When the spew for the Hornet trail was enabled, a double volley would cause FPS to drop from 60 or so down to almost 5. A similar effect occurs with a sustained volley of fire on a large target such as a capital ship, when it releases damage spew particles. I haven't had an eff file to test with, to see if similar slowdowns occur.|
I've been using 3.6.8 Zeta Media VPs, Core, Effects, Models, Textures, as well as the corresponding 710 patches. I use latest CVS, which is 2006/11/15 ATM, but I noticed this with 11/07 as well.
