Summary0001001: Strange explosion-effect crash
DescriptionI am finding that the explosion-effect sexp freezes the game with the generic windows error, but only with certain combinations of coordinates. The release and debug builds both do this. I haven't been able to determine any patterns in what coordinates work or don't work. See this thread for more details:
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,41069.0.html

The strangest part of this is that these sexps works fine on another computer using the same FS2 build, although I need to double check that the other options are all the same.

It could be. I disabled the sound though to see if it would make any difference, but still kept getting the crash.

Is this still an issue in the newer 3.6.9 builds? Both release and debug?

I can't replicate this no matter what I try so I'm not quite sure what to do here. If it only happens in a release build then it's probably just another optimization issue, and Windows specific. If it happens in a debug build as well then that would be helpful to know.

I haven't run into it for a while. I just removed that explosion from the mission where it was causing the crash. The last time I tried it though, it had started happening on the other computer too (no changes had been made there except possibly a newer FSO build). It occurred with both the debug and release builds as far as I remember. I'll try it again in RC7 in a few days if I have time.

I'm going to assume that this is either a fluke (though, probably not) or has since been fixed. Please reopen if you see this again.
