| Summary | 0000987: Game freezes when Cain class ships appear | ||||
| Description | Everytime a Cain appears, be it at already there at the beginning of a mission or when one jumps in, the game freezes, and nothing will close the game short of a reboot. If the cain is already there at the start of a mission, then the game will freeze immediatly upon clicking the 'commit' button. In both cases, the music continues to play, but everything else stops. I am using xubuntu linux. The bug only happens when I'm using the SCP .vp files, which are in a sub directory. If I run fs2_open_r everything works fine, but if I use my own file to start FS2, which has: "#!/bin/bash cd /home/abyss/games/freespace2/ ./fs2_open_r -pcx32 -spec -glow -mipmap -jpgtga -orbradar -mod scp" it freezes when a cain appears. All of the .vp files except for the cell shading are in my scp folder. I installed Freespace 2 and fs2 open by going by "http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Fs2_open_on_Linux" word for word, with no problems installing. | ||||

This is already fixed in CVS. Update, if you are getting code from CVS, or wait for the next Linux release which should be available this weekend. |

I almost feel cheap for resolving this when I fixed it before the bug report. ;) Fixered. |
