| Description | In asteroid storms, the fighters that are guarding a ship do not engage dangerous asteroids (the white autotargeted ones). This makes this kind of missions much more difficult. | ||||
| Additional Information | I've noticed it while playin Revenge 1st mission where BETA wing, (not myself or even ALFA wing), is supposed to protect some freighters from asteroids, but it doesn't attack them. I've also checked with FS Port sixth mission (where you escort GTD Galatea with Alpha 2). I don't have FS2 retail anymore, but Backslash confirms that this is not the retail behaviour (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,38610.msg808023.html#msg808023) Maybe related with 894 (performance drop in asteroid storms)? (http://lore.maxgaming.net/~scp/mantis/bug_view_advanced_page.php?bug_id=0000894) (While fixig it and if it easy, I think it could be great to code a launcher flag to prevent fighters AI from firing missiles to asteroids which is a quite stupid behaviour) | ||||

Not related to 894. I know that the escorts will get assigned asteroids to attack, they just don't do it. There is likely an issue where it returns early from ai processing. I'll try and take a look at it this weekend. |

Found it. Fix will go in CVS tomorrow, with everything else. |
