Summary0000831: Crash upon trying to start game
DescriptionI just downloaded that big 1.7 gig .rar by Shivan_Sps, and whenever I try to launch it crashes (Freespace has encountered a problem and needs to close). When I try one of the mods that came with it, Derilict and the Freespace remake they also crash but it happens after/during that SCP screen with the exploding ship and the code in the corner, while Freespace2 crashes before then.

Uhm....I've tried with high memory features and no features, and every time I've tried to run it has been with the launcher. I also had that "failed to read flag file" bug before this but downloaded the fix too that.

Before I downloaded this big SCP dealy, I had the 3-cd version with most of the vp's downloaded and running fine, and deleted it before I unzipped this.
(sorry if most of the info is erroneous)

Follow the instructions here to properly install FSO:

Can we stop auto-assigning bugs marked as "launcher" to me?

That...didn't help at all. The only thing that applied was the thing about the mediavps folder counting as a mod. It still crashes everytime. I can apparently play Freespace 2 as long as I use it's launcher and not the FS open one though.

* BUMP *

Please give us your hardware specs, specifically video card and video driver version. Also, whether you are using D3D or OpenGL and what cmdline options you are using.
