Summary0000726: Ships are visible in the nebula when thay must not be.
DescriptionAs you know ships in the nebula which are very far are invisible for sensors. This works fine in your lates built in most cases. However, if the wing has more than one wave this works only for the first one. The other waves are all visible even if the distance is large.
NOTE: to prevent posts like "this is normal" I say that in original fs2 all waves are bound to nebula rules.

Which mission is this? There may be an AWACS in the mission that is causing the hostile ships to appear. The AWACS range can be set in FRED, so it may be further than what you're used to if you're playing a user-campaign. When you file a bug report, at least include which mission this appears in. If you made it, you can attach what you have. This way we can see whats going on in that mission. Also are you using the orb radar or the regular one?

It's loop2-1 mission. There are no AWACS there. I use 3d rarar. And how AWACS can cause this bug? I told you: first wave is invisible on large distances (like it supposed to be) and second and others are visible always.

an awacs can cause something like this if the remaing waves jump in within awacs range, so they'll be pickup up no matter what. i'll take a look at this later this week some time. But since there is not AWACS in that mission, i'll take a look at it.

You can get anything worthwhile on radar in loop2-1? I'm impressed by that alone. It usually spends too much time blinking on and off for me to get a bead on much of anything. How are you getting far enough away from secondary waves in that mission to experience this?

Not that it should have any effect, but you should try to test any radar-related bugs without the orb. Just to be safe.

StratComm, there is Lepus wing in this mission, which appears ~10k from you. There are 9 waves of them. First wave reaches you when Lambda transport departs, but other waves are invisible until you get close in original fs2. In fs2_open other waves are always visible.

This is potentially related to my IFF merge. If so, the latest builds should have this fixed.
