However, if I place the mission file directly into data\missions folder, everything is OK. Looks like you read missions from VP improperly

I just noticed, that in most missions (if thay are in VP, not in folder) initial weapons for wingmen as well as weapons loadout for primiries are loaded improperly.

There should be no difference whether it's in a VP or not. It's either read correctly or it doesn't read at all. This sounds more like tbl issues to me. When in the ship/weapon select screen just hit the reset button over on the side and see if everything reverts to the defaults.

Funny. Just tried to load missions again from VP and all works fine. Perhaps that was temporary bug (not in fs2_open actually)

I think it's a strange pilot file bug, but I have never been able to track it down any further than I have already. Once the loadout gets reset once then it gets saved back out to the files correctly and things just start working again. It is rather random and seems to eventually fix itself. I haven't seen this problem yet in the new pilot code but when it goes public we'll know for sure.

Closing as a non-bug (though it is sort of a bug) and it should covered by a previous Mantis bug.

Not-A-Bug.

Reopening this, because I have found the reason: it's Media VP.
If Media VP's are used, bug happens and vice versa. (reset button does not help)
Do media vp's contain tbl's? If so, maybe there are some errors there.

Found the reason, but I'm confused. Why have you placed single missions into mv_models.vp pack?

I only see missions in mv_effects. They are there since we needed to modify the missions to use the starfield background model.

Negative. There are no missions in mv_effects. They are in mv_models.

how new are your media vp's then?

I downloaded Media VP's on 10.01.2006.
On http://fs2source.warpcore.org/mvp368delta/ there packs version 29.12.2005.
So I have the latest ones I presume.

Closing once more. The root cause of this problem is already covered by another bug.

Closered.
