| Description | With 29/12/05 CVS build and without any species_defs.tbl SCP thrusters are not completely used (atleast engine trail is missing). With proper species_defs.tbl SCP effects are present but (only) overlayed over the retail thuster cones leaving retail thruster cones visible on those models which have them. | ||||
| Additional Information | If possible retail thruster cones should not be rendered at all. And default table (species_defs.tbl) should be included either to the code or to the media vps. Test ship was Ulysses set as Vasudan. | ||||

Well, I guess this would qualify as being fixed now since code has gone in to address most of this. In summary (from the forums): 1) The secondary and teritary thruster glow (what SCP added) are, and will remain, off by default and will require proper tables (either ships.tbl entries or species_defs.tbl, or modular versions of said tbls) to turn on. 2) Code was added to properly deal with the primary thruster animation so that a "<none>" as the animation name in the tables would prevent it from rendering. It will instead only show the glows. 3) The code has been modified to handle the missing graphics and still render engine glow effects (primary, secondary, tertiary) if no thruster animation graphic exists. Primary glows can also be turned off with "<none>", however if that happens then the secondary and tertiary glows will also be disabled automatically. |
