| Summary | 0000675: Assertion Fails on Second Mission (Not second attempt) | ||||
| Description | Occurs at an arbitrary point within the second mission of an invocation. Repeated about four times, only using standard campaign missions. Seems to be a regression, as my previous 3.6.7 build did not exhibit this behaviour. Debug log attached, but I haven't looked at it yet. | ||||
| Additional Information | ASSERTION FAILED: "num == bm_bitmaps[n].handle" at bmpman/bmpman.cpp:3399 | ||||

That's from bm_is_compressed(), got a backtrace of calling functions? Does this still happen if you use the -img2dds cmdline option? Also, 'touch ~/.fs2_open/data/debug_filter.cfg', that will put bmpman debug info in the log. The log file will get a lot bigger then but you can trim it some by editing the debug_filter.cfg file after you've run the game and change some "+" to "-" to turn off that particular debug spew. The main ones to turn off are AI and Parse (none of them are case sensitive). |

|
Haven't had time to fiddle with the debug log, but using -img2dds appears to have circumvented the problem. I'll run the debug log tonight when I've got some hack-time. |

Please try this again with fresh CVS. I worked out quite a few bmpman errors recently. |

* BUMP * Have you had a chance to try this in a newer build? |
|
|
Still recouperating from a hard drive crash, I should be back in business in the next couple days if I don't have any more disasters. I'll be in touch, don't close my bugs just yet. (They're sitting marked unread in my inbox.) |

* BUMP * I can only assume that this is fixed at this point. I'll close this tomorrow if there's no status update. |

Assuming this is fixed by the (slightly) improved code. Reopen if it's still found to be a problem. Fixered. |
