| Description | In SM1-08 (The Sixth Wonder), I can consistently play through the mission right to what should be the end, where the colossus warps in, tells fighters to disengage, and is supposed to finish off the Hawkwood. (Section 4.15 in http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/freespace_2.txt describes what's supposed to happen). However, the Colossus never actually does anything. It just sits there and lets the Hawkwood destroy Enif station... it's pretty much impossibly for the player to destroy the Hawkwood on his own, so the mission is unwinnable. I'm using 20051105. I would try a more recent version, but I have been unable to find a single download for a more recent CVS that actually works (warpcore is apparently no more). I acquired 20051105 from the game-warden mirror... it's the only version available there. | ||||

Let me guess. At some point during the mission you ordered all fighters to ignore the Hawkwood, right? This is a known bug that shows up even in retail. It's being fixed (and it requires a somewhat complicated fix, which is why it hasn't been done yet - that, and the programmer has a lot of projects on his plate). Don't tell your fighters to ignore the Hawkwood and the Colossus will do its thing properly. EDIT: And by the way, your link gives a "referrer link error". edited on: 12-27-05 01:43 |
