| Summary | 0000658: No engine glow for non Freespace 2 model | ||||
| Description | Since I use the newest Inferno build (the 22.12.2005) all my models don't have their engine glow. But, if models are from Freespace 2, there are no problem. Usually, I use my mod with the fs2_open_r-inferno-20050918 build, and all works. Is there something wrong with my models ? forgot to put something ? | ||||

Probably the models, though it's partly a table problem too. Depending on the model design it may not be able to render the thruster animation and would instead only show the engine glows. Recently the engine glows have been broken though so they may not have rendered either. The glows should be fixed now however so it should once again work in a newer CVS build. If not then report back with the ships.tbl entry for the broken ship, and a copy of the species_defs.tbl in use. |

When could we expect the next CVS release ? I sent my ship.tbl in case you find something unusual. |

The newest build was released early this morning. I'll check the tbl later today, after I get some sleep. |
|
|
Do you have species_defs.tbl in use? |
|
|
Nope. I don't use any species.tbl. I use the default one from the Media VP. |

I just uploaded a species_defs.tbl, download it and place it to data/tables directory and see if that helps. That _should_ help if you are using new CVS builds. |

Thanks again ^^ It works. I'm wonder why the recent CVS seems to not using species.tbl from the MediaVP ? edited on: 01-08-06 11:49 |

I don't think that there is a species_defs.tbl in the MediaVPs any more. It does support modular tables now though. The thing is that the extra glows are optional so the game now uses them as optional. If you don't have the extra glow entries specified in species_defs.tbl (or the modular version, -sdf.tbm) then it won't show them. |
