The warp hole doesn't appear when a ship is warping in. The sound doesn't play as well. From the looks of it, the ship just appears where its placed in FRED and is not travelling at the warpin speed of the ship, resulting is position problems since the mission designer took into account the final location of the ship as the jump speed wore off.

I've encountered this as well, but not all ships are subject to it. I'm working with TBP and I'm in the process of tracking down which ships are affected by this, so hopefully a pattern can be descerned. Note, this first appeared in the 10/30 CVS build.

OK, I just did a massive test with nearly ALL TBP ships, and not ONE of them generated a warpin in the test missions I made, but for some strange reason, there is ONE mission I made before, where 2 cap-ships DO have warpin effects. My only theory for this is that it has something to do with the fact that these ships have fighters multi-docked to them when they arrive. I've set up another test mission, this time with a pair of docked ships. If it doesn't work then, I'll try with the exact same type and number of ships that worked in the cuprit mission.

It should be fixed, and yes, it has to do with docking.

Yup. Just did my test with 11/13 build and the pair of docked ships arrived with a warp effect.
