Summary0000609: Ghost COMM and SENSORS in GTCv Deimos
DescriptionJust look at the position of COMM box in the screenshot. It's the same with SENSOR subsystem
Additional InformationI'm using all media vp 3.6.7 including the two hipoly-model patches. I have noticed this while playing Lightning Marshal 3 MOD (I have all four LM Mods installed in the same directory). The picture is from LM3_02 but it also happens in other missions (at least I have noticed it in LM3_06).

Can you back track with some of the recent builds and find where this started to occur?

All of the recent builds have been seperated into their respective months.

Tonight I will post some new builds just in case something got screwed with my local copy of CVS, just in case.

I'll check some older FSOpen versions this evening (evening in Spain, I mean).

I can also try with other MODs (i.e. Trascend) or with no MODs at all. But I can't remember a mission with a Deimos in it and I'd like not trying every single one. Can anyone tell me one mission to try?

The retail mission the sixth wonder has one. To get access to it use -allslev in the custom flags field. This lists all availiable missions in the techroom.

Guys, this is a certifiable media problem. All the subsystems on the HTL deimos are misaligned (actually the underlying model is misaligned compared to the retail one) so you're always going to see this. I'll fix the model at some point.

Close this bug then?

Leave it open, assign it to WMC, and when I finish the model fix he can lump it in with the next media VP update. I don't have a good way to distribute the model at the moment, and it needs to be corrected ultimately in the "official" distributions.

Model fixed and uploaded. I moved the subsystems (and the docks) but didn't touch the paths; from what I can tell they're still be a horrendous mess even if I were to move them. Were I converting this, I would have made the alignment of the model more closely match that of the retail one, but I'm not going to quibble over 32 meters post-conversion. This model should clear up the floating special point problem, at least.

Much appreciated Stratcomm. This will either go into Media VP 3.6.8 or Media VP 3.6.7 Patch 3 if there is a patch 3.
