Summary0000561: Pilots cannot be deleted
DescriptionThe remove pilot function in the barracks screen seems to have some problems. If it's used once, it doesn't seem to do anything; the pilot is still visible and can be selected normally. If it's used twice in succession, then the second time it gives an error that the pilot file could not be deleted, so the pilot is still available for use. This occurs in 3.6.7.

The pilot files can always be deleted manually so it isn't a big deal, but worth mentioning.

The pilots deleted for me the first time, it's just that the screen didn't update. If I went out of the barracks and came back in then the pilot was gone. It was missing off of the disk too. Is this the case for you or did it really not delete the pilot?

The screen update thing was an easy fix though and is in CVS now.

I played around with this a bit and it looks like it's as you say if the pilot to be deleted is different from the currently selected one. If you try to delete the pilot you're currently using though, it doesn't do anything and you can go back to the mainhall with the same pilot. This second case obviously applies to only the barracks screen, not the select pilot screen when you first enter the game.

I don't remember exactly what retail FS2 did if you tried to delete the pilot you were currently using, so I'm actually not sure what is normal here.

With the previous bug the current pilot would still be selected when you exit the barracks. The fix takes care of that too though so it should work like retail again.

I'm going to go ahead and resolve this but redmenace's newest CVS build should have the fix in it. Give that a try and if it turns out not to fix the problem 100% for you just reopen this and I'll take another look.
