Summary0000538: allied ship don't fire guns
DescriptionI reported this before but this one is more severe. In the mission" their finnest hour, tehe allied ships don't fir on the entering shivan cruisers. Nore with beamcannons , nore with laserguns. In the beginning of the mission you;re ordered to leave the capital ships alone. This makes no sense, theu odd to fire on the shivan like the retail version.

I really should let one of the Mantis gurus make this reply, but I really want to point out the (now closed) thread you started before. I just played through that particular mission with the latest build and although the line-of-sight issues still abound the allied cruisers most certainly do use their flak and laser guns (when possible) against the shivan cruisers. It's already been stated that the behavior on that mission is not very different from retail, the cruisers don't really need to survive to complete the mission (nor does any part of the FREDDing for that mission indicate that they even should). Unless you can reproduce this somewhere else or you're failing the mission because of the dying cruisers, this is an absolute non-bug.

I have a feeling you're using the ignore-my-target command on the comms menu, which is making the capital ships ignore the cruisers as well. This is a known issue, and can break pretty much any retail mission. My advice is don't use it at all.

Hang on guys, I may have found a correlation with this... it looks like if you order wingmen to Disarm a target, friendly beams won't fire upon it. Can someone verify this?

Yup, this is correct; I just verified it in the source code. Happens for all ships below Capital.

It's still not a SCP bug, though. ;) Just learn to use the comms menu.
