...both your summary and description say the exact same thing: nothing at all. As in it's not clear from your text what the problem is.

What exactly do you mean here?

Hmmm... I thought it was. Basically, if you use the no-briefing option in the mission settings, and the mission is also Red-Alert, it'll still display the red-alert briefing screen.

Okay. From your wording it sounded like something was wrong with the FRED dialog box.

Should be fixed now.

Use of No-Briefing on Red-Alert now results in CTD as soon as the mission is loaded. This occurs with or without a briefing stage, with or without text. It doesn't occur if the player choses another mission (usually from the techroom), then loads the red-alert mission in question. However, then the playership and some of the player wing ships will be flying the same ship with the same loadout as the single mission previously played. It will even override the team-loadout restrictions of what craft and weapons are available. (Note: I have encountered the ship/weapon cross-over before, when playing single missions).

Bah. Must have been someone else's doing. When did this show up again?

Actually, I never noticed it until now. I'll give it a whirl with some older builds and see if it cropps up. It appears (by your earlier post announcing that the first problem was fixed) that the fix was committed around the 9th of last month. I'll start around then.

It seems that the crash bug has been there since this was committed on Sept. 9th. I tested with Redmenace's 09/08 build, and it played the red-alert briefing screen, ignoring the no-briefing selection. The next build was the 10th, which crashed as soon as the mission loaded.

I think I might have fixed it. Try the next CVS build.

It appears to be functional now. Thanks Goob. :-)
