| Summary | 0000473: Big white square, while jumping out facing the sun | ||||
| Description | Always, when I face the sun and jump out, there is a white square on the vortex which is open. It should not be this way. This bug happens with both TBP warp effects on and off. | ||||
| Additional Information | Build is: T-20050622 (last b4 3.6.7....) I am using the following features: -spec -glow -pcx32 -jpgtga -d3dmipmap -nomotiondebris -2d_poof -rlm -dualscanlines -targetinfo -orbradar -3dwarp -tbpwarpeffects -ballistic_gauge -snd_preload -env -alpha_env -decals -ambient_factor 75 -fov 0.39 I got windows XP, p4 3.0ghz, 1gb ddram, geforce fx 5200 128 mb, and the 77.72 drivers version. | ||||

And this is when running in D3D mode right? Does it do it in OGL mode too? |

Where can I download the right opengl version? Then I will tell you. And, it happens on goobers latest build too, and even more frequently and not only while facing the sun, but in random jumps, not only mine. edited on: 07-21-05 13:31 |

You just need newer video drivers, they should provide the correct OpenGL version. If they don't then what video card and driver version are you currently using? |

Omg it really works, no it does not happen in OpenGL ! |

Classifying as a D3D bug since it doesn't appear to happen in OGL mode. |

This happened to me while playing Transcend, even when I wasn't jumping out. Although most (if not all) were instances of *other* ships jumping in and out. I used no command-line flags other than jpgtga. Could this just be an "out of memory" type thing? |

What kind of out of memory? Is 1GB of ram and 1GB of virtual memory not enough for FSSCP (calm speaking) ? I may did not understand what you wrote because I know nothing about coding :). edited on: 07-29-05 02:15 edited on: 07-29-05 02:16 |

I don't mean that your computer or mine had insufficient memory. I mean that FSO may have had a memory problem which prevented it from loading the graphic. I may be wildly off track, though. |

Quads with the *_UNLIT flag, specular lighting values for the vertices were being incorrectly set (ie not set to zero). |
