Summary0000468: Wrong colors at certain locations, after returning to the menu
DescriptionI played with resolution of 640x480X32 D3D (dont know about OpenGL, cause dont have right version). After I aborted mission and jumped out, I noticed that when I move the mouse over some of the "spots" at the menu such as Tech room, Ready room, and it turns to the wrong colors while the cursor is there. After some mouse moving, it returns to normal.

It should not be that way, and it should not change the colors.

I have windows XP, P4 3.0Ghz, 1GB DDRam 400mhz, Geforce FX 5200 and I use the 77.72 drivers version.
I use the "20050622 - BugFix build (...last b4 3.6.7)"

I use the following features:
-spec -glow -pcx32 -jpgtga -d3dmipmap -nomotiondebris -2d_poof -dualscanlines -targetinfo -orbradar -3dwarp -ballistic_gauge -snd_preload -env

This is an old and known bug. I think that this is similar to the OGL bug where those same spots will be black & white. I traced through the bowels of the animplay system but didn't find anything. I would assume that it's something in the texture system but I have yet to find anything there either.

This bug isn't a very high priority though and unless someone else takes it it will stay broken until I take another look (at the end of this year probably).

Just wanted to inform you that after a long time that I was'nt here, I installed FS2 and the SCP stuff, the newest 3.6.9 RC1 build, and there is no such problem as I described. Just wanted to let you know that im not getting that weird stuff anymore.

This is by no means fixed, you should have closed it if anything.

I saw it again last night so it's still an issue. Also NeoStorm never said whether he tested with OpenGL (where this exact problem doesn't happen) or D3D, nor whether he is using the same video card a drivers, which is likely attributing to the problem.

This needs to stay open until we either attribute it to something, confirm that it's related to the same OpenGL issue, or dump all support for D3D.

I tried with OpenGL, tried with D3D. Both in 640x480x32.
It does'nt happen anymore.
I never got that black&white stuff in OpenGL (in openGL I did not have problems, and still don't) you wrote in earlier note, even around the time I reported the bug.

I'm using Radeon 9600 Pro now. Maybe its because I changed my video card ?
Suppose thats why I don't get it anymore.

I'm using XG WarCat 6.5 drivers.

This may be fixed now. Valgrind was hitting on some errors in the anim code where data wasn't initialized properly. With that fixed I haven't seen this again, though it doesn't happen often enough to say it's fixed with certainty. But, neither D3D nor OGL can reproduce a similar result on the testing I did last night and this morning.

For now I think we can just assume that it's fixed until someone notices it again.
