Summary0000295: Wrong hit sounds played when hitting fighters.
DescriptionOGGs used. When firing and hitting fighters with no shield mesh the game plays shield hitsound when it should play the hull hitsound. Using tables which use wavs everything works properly. This has been tested on The Babylon Project and I haven't been able to test this on normal Freespace 2.
Additional InformationSound card used: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 with 444 drivers.

Would you specify on which build this happened?
Thanks.

3.6.5 build used. Other builds do not have build-in OGG support.

hmm. I've tried this build and didn't notice anything of what you say. I'll test it again and let you know.

I think that the hull hit sound is l_hit.ogg so could you please attach that one. I don't see anything code wise yet that would cause this to not work right with OGGs.

l_hit.ogg (15,172 bytes)

Strange. Is l_hit.ogg the same as s_hit_2.ogg or is it different? I think that they are the same in normal FS2 and TBP 2.0. s_hit_2 (index 40) is supposed to be when a laser shot hits the players shield. s_hit_4 (index 39) is supposed to be when a laser shot hits the shield of another ship. l_hit (index 36) is supposed to be a laser hit hitting the hull. Make sure that those sounds match up with what's intended to be heard.

l_hit.ogg is different from s_hit_2.ogg. Everything is matched up how it is intended. There is nothing changed, except .wav in the ogg version of sound.tbl in comparison to wav version of sound.tbl where everything works as they should.

Does this problem still occur with my cumulative or later builds?

Reminder sent to Darkblade

Could you please check if this is still an issue with later builds?

Closing due to lack of feedback. I haven't seen anyone saying they can reproduce it.
