What operating system are you using?
Have you downloaded and setup for use the latest MediaVPs (available on Hard-Light forums)? These are graphical enhancements from the retail version of FS2

I'm using Windows 8 and have version 3.6.18 and am using the 3.6.12 MediaVPs that are included.

Which launcher are you using? 5.5g doesn't work properly with Windows 8. If you're not already using it, use wxlauncher instead.

Using 5.5.0.6

I'll try that and get back. And thanks a lot for the quick responses :)

Okay tried the wxlauncher to find the same results. Is the games internal resolution set to a 4:3 mode? I can go into nvidia settings and set scaling to GPU instead of Monitor, and that would put two black bars on the side, but I'd rather be able to use my whole screen with correct aspect if possible.

FSO can do 16:9 & 16:10 resolutions. The interface art will be stretched, but in game everything except the HUD will have the correct aspect ratio without any extras. If it's only the HUD that that's getting stretched, you'll need an updated hud gauges table.

Try downloading mv_root-hdg.tbm from this ticket:
http://scp.indiegames.us/mantis/view.php?id=2672

Put the file into mediavps_3612/data/tables.

Also, this is meant to be a bug tracker for code issues, I'm fairly sure that this isn't a code issue so if you continue to have problems, could you please start a thread on the forum?
