| Description | Here it is: I have Polish retail version of Fs2 and when i try to run Open FS2 (v3.6) its crashes with message: Error: Strings.tbl is corrupt File:E:\Languages\Visual Studio Projects\Visual C++\fs2_open\code\Localization\localize.cpp Line: 572 Call stack: ------------------------------------------------------------------ fs2_open_3_6.exe 005f0bd5() kernel32.dll 77e814c7() ------------------------------------------------------------------ When i change file Root_fs2.vp to one from english version it works OK but then when i run multiplayer it tells me that i have hacked tables so i can't save my results in MP | ||||

Hm. What the first error means is that your strings.tbl doesn't have any Polish language translations. Are you running any mods? |

To be sure that all is clear I'v removed Fs2 and make "clean" installation, only Fs2 and FsOpen v3.6 + media pack and error still appears (crash with original Root_fs2.vp with this same error and run OK with english but tells that i have hacked tables) |

Can you remove the media pack and try again? That might be causing it. I know one of the media packs includes tables that don't work on multiplayer. It could also include its own strings.tbl (which would cause this message). |

Thats weird, I'v just tryed each combination with Root_fs2.vp and mediapack and thats what i get: with original root_fs2.vp always crash with error message, with english root_fs2.vp without media pack can't establish connection (connection failed message) but when i only put mv_zpack_a.vp into Fs2 root directory connection is OK but with "hacked table" message Now i really have no idea whats going on.... |

Can you list the exact error messages for each combination? |

With original root_fs2.vp its always this same error that i mention at start, with english without media pack its all works ok, only when i try to connect to fs2net it gives me "connection failed" in-game message, with media pack conection is ok but then i get "you playing with hacked tables your results wont be stored" in-game message |

I need the *exact* messages. Type in the message that appears, word for word, including any line numbers that appear. If I don't know the exact message, I can't search for the problem area. |

This is easily fixed if someone can get me the Polish root_fs2.vp. You will have to use a verified tbl set for multiplayer though. The set in the MediaVPs should work fine. |

Still no VP sent to me but I'm going to start merging in some of the Polish support from the icculus.org version. It may not all go in properly and will likely be incomplete for the SCP version but until I get a VP there's nothing else to do. For now very basic support is ready. It will hopefully get past this one problem now but there will be translation problems until I can get more code tested and in CVS. Fixered... as good as it can be for now. |
