| Summary | 0000229: Textures/ships disappearing | ||||
| Description | Using the version "fs2_open_C07202004.exe", about 5 minutes in to any mission, the textures on larger ships and objects disappear, as well as any shots fired...I've tried this with many combinations of options and command line tags, and get the same result every time. | ||||

What OS (operating System)? What version of the media VP? What resolution? What graphical card? What version drivers for that card? How much RAM do you have? What processor? When you've answered all of the questions above, we'll be able to help you a lot easier. |

The system I'm running it on: OS: Windows 2000 service pack 4 Using the 3.6 media VPs 1024x768x16 resolution, d3d (Almost immediately crashes using OpenGL on any version) ATI Radeon Mobility, 16mb vram (Works fine with FS2open 3.6) Driver version 6.14.0010.6430 (English) 512 MB RAM P3 1ghz If you need any further info, feel free to contact me via AIM (perfectcire) or ICQ (145052716). |

That vid card may well be the cause of some of the issues, could you use -stat and tell us what amount of memory is left? |

That video card is deffinitely not enough the play FS2_Open well if at all. A 128meg video card is highly recommened. I assume the texture memory count includes AGP memory so that's part of you problem. With 104meg free then what is your AGP aperture set at? You've only got 512meg of system RAM so it shouldn't really be above 64meg or you'll have other problems running the game. You can probably get away with not using the MediaVPs (except maybe mv_core) but I would be surprised if you don't experience problems with anything more. |
