| Summary | 0002283: 3.6.12 won't load | ||||
| Description | I downloaded the game through gog.com, I had to since my disks have worn out. When I try to run the game after installing all of the SCP files the game no longer works. I try the game before installing anything and it works fine. Here is the order I install: 1) Install game using gog.com installer to "c:\Games\Freespace2" (WORKS) 2) Install OpenAL 3) Use current FSOInstaller to install all features 4) Download and install fs2_open_3_6_12 & Launcher 5.5f 5) Open launcher and select fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF_SSE2 and turn on all the graphic options 6) Run game. Nothing Happens. Check Windows Task Manager>Processes, shows its running Sometimes I get an error asking me to insert a disk. I have played 3.6.10 on my system before using my disks to install and everything worked fine. Seeing how the game works before I install anything leads me to think that something new in the SCP files might not like my hardware or the gog.com version of the game. | ||||

Please read the FSOpen FAQ: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.0 There is a known issue with the multiplayer vp downloads being corrupted, try deleting them. If that doesn't fix the issue, please attach the fs2_open.log created by the debug build to this issue. |

No reply. Assuming it was the corrupted multi vp file. |
