The very first lines: "Command, this is Alpha 2. We're in. I've got a visual on the subspace portal." and "One wing of Maras closing in fast. The behemoth is 2.5 clicks out. Two freighters and half a dozen cargon units are in the depot area." It basically ends up sounding like this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEbThH1pJEc And yes, Alpha 2 is still present in-mission. There might be more lines that he doesn't say. |

It's a weird issue with the mediavps missions. A patch has been uploaded and linked to in the FSO FAQ ( http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.0 ). |

Aha. It's very simple: in the standard mission version, Alpha 2 has a persona index. In the broken mission, he does not. Since his message is scripted as coming from <any wingman>, as opposed to Alpha 2 specifically, the code will not play the message since no wingmen with that persona exist. Try adding the single line +Persona Index: 2 to the bottom of Alpha 2's entry. I'll bet it fixes it. The question now becomes, why were the persona indexes dropped when the mission was saved? Did you edit anything in FRED using the ship editor dialog? |

I've tested the load/save and the persona index does not disappear, so I'm chalking this up to mediaVP error and closing. |
