Someone should make this the lyrics to some song: What build did this start to occur in? What command lines? D3D or OGL? Did you use AA? Did you use the geforce font fix? What OS? |

Build 3.6 Command lines: fs2_open_3_6.exe -spec -glow -jpgtga -d3dmipmap -fps -ambient_factor 50 D3D HT&L No Antialiasing GeForce Font Fix applied Windows XP with Service Pack 1 and all hotfixes to date. |

Please try it in the most recent build, from the recent builds forum. IF you have that build, please try in OGL. (Ships might look kinda fubared, ignore it, just look at the anim). Try it without -jpgtga. Try it with AA. NOTE: I am fishing into nothing here, I'm just trying to find a certain setting responsible. Is this only in certain missions, if so, which? Does this always occur in those missions, with all anims? Does it only occur with certain anims, in all missions? If so, what anims? |

Tried with 07202004, the particular mission did not even start. Quite common problem with post-3.6 builds and TBP missions. Com anims worked in OpenGL with 3.6 modified for TBP by Eternal One. -jpgtga. did not have an effect to this problem. AA did not have an effect either. I have encountered this problem only in a single mission, problem is in all anims. Mission in question is mission 7 for WIP Raider Campaign. (TBP) |

Can you upload that mission? Is that mission doing anything special with the anims (lot's of em, some custom persona, that kind of stuff)? |

Well, you would require TBP R3 "base" to be able to play it AFAIK... Darkblade's the mission designer for that mission so I leave rest to him to comment. |

The mission uses normal comm-anims which TBP has used in R1 and R2 missions. There are actually less comm-anims than I normally use and no custom personas or comm-anims. The comm-anims work completely normal when you use Retail FS2. |

If it only happens in that one mission, then it is probably the mission itsself, and a look at it might be usefull. |

I don't know, haven't been playing retail FS2 in 1-2 years maybe... I don't even have retail installed, just TBP stand-alone with minimal original FS2 files. Sorry. :) |

I was able to reproduce this recently. I haven't been able to track it down since it's so random but I'll working on the problem. I have a guess that this isn't OpenGL specific but just manifests differently under D3D (possibly the LSD effect?). |

I saw it in the beta for 3.6.5 so I know it's still there. Other changes might have greatly reduced the frequency but whatever was causing it isn't fixed, yet. |

Several changes in the past few of months may have officially squashed this. Some of the changes are OpenGL specific and others are generic in bmpman. I've been trying like mad for the past week to recreate either of the two ani problems and have been unsuccessful. Whether or not it's truly fixed I don't know but if not then it's happening about as infrequently as it possibly can. If it shows up again then please reopen this bug. Until then... Fixered. |
