Product Version3.6.10
Summary0002046: Executable will not start
DescriptionI'm running a Dell Latitude D830 with windows XP SP2.

I've been able to run the original game with no issues. I'm also able to run FSO 3.6.5 but none of the vps will run on it.

When I run 3.6.10 the screen goes black and registers as "not responding".

Additional InformationI cannot even get the splash screen to work or the .log file to gather information on what is not working.

Is this 3.6.10 final?

We need some more information about your machine - specifically processor/graphics/RAM.
A brief google search describes the D830 as a business machine, and these typically do not have the graphics chipsets required to run FSO.
3.6.5 is a very old release and has significantly lower requirements, however it is no longer supported by the SCP.

Lets not forget what mods and commandline options were being used.

You are most likely correct. The display dirvers are igxprd32.dll and is running the Mobile 965 Express Chipset.

It's curious that I have 2GB RAM and have been able to run the original game, but if there have been massive graphical improvements then that would make more sense.

Closed, as this seems to be a support issue. If it is still required, please post in the FSO support board about this.
