| Description | First off, this doesn't really have a category so I put it in "user interface". Also, the "product version" thingus doesn't list 3.6.10 so I selected 3.6.11. this happens with 3.6.10 RC2. Basically, the RC2 build left some theora thingy out of the Linux build. Whenever I try to run it, the konsole (this is Kubuntu) says that it can't find libtheora.so.0. I "solved" the problem by switching to RC1. Herra Tohtori said on IRC that the codecs should be integrated in the FS engine, so I can only assume it was something left out of the build. | ||||

http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,63492.msg1250995.html#msg1250995 In chief's tiny little handwriting down the bottom is: "This also included using OpenAL Soft (libopenal.so.1) instead of the OpenAL SI (libopenal.so.0), so a symlink creation may be necessary in case it is reported as missing. If you run into this issue (likely on Fedora, maybe others), cd to /usr/lib, and '(sudo) ln -s libopenal.so.0 libopenal.so.1'. Then pester your distro to update its OpenAL package to OpenAL Soft. " |

Odd, I don't know of any similar issues like that with theora though. Was there a version bump there as well I wonder? Maybe try out RC3. |
