They have always been like that. Why are you looking straight at them? :-P This is what the round engine glow is meant to cover. |

Hey, this issue has affected Xt builds for quite a long time. But Taylor squashed it in XT0306. I haven't had time to test latest SVN build... At least in XT builds the problem showed up whenever you set: $ThrustAnims: +Pri_Normal: <none> or +Pri_Normal: Missing_Map in Species_Defs.tbl or in any xxx-sdf.tbm. And Mediavps does it to "erase" original FS2 polyed thrusters. With this kind of table setting, a lot of thruster bitmaps disappear from rendering. Taylor got a little crazy till he fixed it because he didn't get the bug in his own system (so it is probably system/GPU/driver/OS related). But maybe he has it actually solved in his own code database (Xt builds). Or maybe he knows what can be causing it in actual SVN code. |
well I am using svn, so? I guess he didn't kill it. |
I just noticed that the thruster effect is on even if the ship is not moving. |
That looks pretty much like you would be missing the primary and tertiary thruster glow effects leaving only the secondary (trail type effect) visible. |
At last I've been able to test with SVN revision 4608 from Chief, and I DO see the thrusters. I don't get the bug ????? (Vista 32-bit + 8800 GTX + forceware 175.12) Taylor, PLEASE, light our lives... |
Yeah, this is the same bug that you reported ARSPR, and was eventually fixed. I can't remember if I actually committed the entire fix to SVN though, since the updated thruster handling as a whole hasn't been committed yet. I'm going to catch up with the rest of my tagged commits this week, so it should work itself out at that point. |
