| Description | With the newest builds (using fs2_openT-20040401.exe) the full nebula seems to have lost its detail. I think the problem is that the poofs are rendered too large. Here's two screenshots for comparison: NEW NEBULA (wrong) http://www.penguinbomb.com/lightspeed/SCPTest/nebulabug.jpg (only look at the left side of the image) OLD NEBULA (right) http://www.penguinbomb.com/lightspeed/effects_05.jpg you see the first one looks too washed out, it has lost all the 'poof detail' - I think due to poofs that are rendered about 2 times their original size. | ||||

Also 3D nebula poofs are much brighter than 2D ones, use -2d_poof to see the difference. |

yes, using "-2d_poof" everything seems to work again |

I got -2d_poof working in OGL as well just recently so can this be closed now? I really like the way the effect looks now and *not* with -2d_poof but it's a matter of opinion. If it's a big issue then we can make the -2d_poof effect default and add a -3d_poof option instead. |

Assuming this is fixed now and staying at the default of 3d rather than 2d. Fixered |
