Summary0000152: Flashy textures on turrets
DescriptionOn cap-ships turrets and some other things... when i flown near this turret it have some bug on turret's textures. It's flashy, one time it is... one it is not. Like "black&white noise" in no-configurated television. Look on screens:

- on "screen02.gif" we got all-things-right GTD Orion's turret
- on "screen03.gif" - same turret with flashy "television" thing, a secound after screen02.gif
- on "screen04.gif" we got same turret and flashy thing again

What operating system are you using?

What kind of graphics card?
What Drivers?
Is this in D3D or OGL?
What Resolution?
What are the rest of you PC's specs?

I've had the same problem, and it disappeared after updating drivers from Cat3.7 to 4.2.

Could be and probably still is a driver problem.

this is some sort of Zfighting. it only happens insome situations, usualy when a polygon is partaly on screen, this is either a hardware or driver issue, it will probly go away if/when we get specmapping to work in one pass rather than the multi-pass system we have now

* BUMP *

Unless someone has seen this same thing in OpenGL, this bug is getting closed.

Closing due to:
 - lack of response
 - D3D is being phased out
 - doesn't happen in OGL

Closered.
