| Summary | 0001427: mouse issue with .avi cutscenes installed and dual monitor setup | ||||
| Description | i recently noticed my build of fs2 didn't have any cutscenes, so i downloaded .avi versions and added them to the fs2/data/movies folder. immediately afterwards i noticed strange mouse behavior when i started the game: if i moved the mouse cursor past the halfway point and on to the left, a second cursor would show up as the normal windows cursor on my second monitor (also situated to the left). since my monitor is running at 1280x1024 and the game at 1024x768, the movements didn't correspond exactly (and the clone cursor would fall off the screen past a certain point) but were roughly equivalent. at any rate, when i tried to click anything in the game while a clone cursor was on the other monitor, the game would crash to desktop with a "cannot swap buffers" error. i tested putting the movies into different folders, with the same results each time, but once they were removed entirely from the fs2 folders this behavior would disappear. i do not have .mve files to test with, so i don't know if it happens with those as well. | ||||

We don't support AVI movies any longer (the code was removed shortly after 3.6.9 was released), so if same thing doesn't happen with the MVE or Theora versions of the movies then this is really a non-issue. If you don't have the Theora versions, just go the 3.6.9 release thread in the HLP forums for the links. If they work fine then we can close this bug. |

i swapped the .avi files with the .ogg files from the forum and it works fine now. thanks :) |

Apparently just another in the long line of problems resulting from that stupid AVI code. No fix required. |
