| Summary | 0001332: Rebels and Renegades Asteroids | ||||
| Description | In the mission "Rebels and Renegades", when I install the MediaVP 3.6.8 Zeta pack, the asteroids that I have to blow up are invisible. There are the white targeting boxes around them, but you cannot see them at all. Also, if you click on the asteroid field in the mission briefing, they are invisible there as well. If I take the mediaVP "mod" out through the Launcher, the asteroids show up fine in all viewing modes noted above. | ||||

After looking through the other reports after I registered, I found a solution to it by applying the jpg/tga flag. The asteroids show up fine as long as that flag is checked in the Launcher. |

Strangely, a similar problem happens to me when I install LS High-Texture versions of the original FS2 nebula, they disappear, when I remove them they are there again. |
Joshua, I don't understand your post: What is dissapearing? The Nebulas or the Asteroids. If the answer is the nebulas, I bet the problem is the nebula bitmaps have wrong alpha channel. Use an updated version of them (if available). |

It also happened to the asteroids once, Enabling motion debris somehow did the trick ????????? |

Can somebody confirm that this happens with Lightspeed's nebula pack too? I know there aren't asteroid maps in there. In that case this might not be a content problem. However... I guess this is issue with the TGA/-jpgtga. So this problem will be fixed with the next MV release anyway, as I'm using DDS for everything. Recent builds don't have the -jpgtga option anymore anyway. I'll leave this open till the release though. |

I think we can close this. The -jpgtga flag has been in CVS for a while now; there's no use leaving this bug open to clutter things up. |
