| Description | I tried the Launcher after installing FS2 Open, it wouldn't run. I tried running FS2 Open directly, it said I didn't have OpenAL after I had just installed it. I rebooted, and tried the launcher again. It now sometimes opens, sometimes doesn't. When it does, it almost always crashes when I try to view the "video" tab. It sometimes crashes when I select random options. So far, it's only worked completely once out of about 20 tries today. | ||||

Seems to have been caused by old OpenAl files. Looks like it might be solved in the forums. http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,45344.0.html |

I think that this crash issue was fixed in 5.5a, though it still has issues with OpenAL in this respect. 5.5 would crash on a ptr error due to incorrect error handling for the LoadLibrary() calls. |
