| Description | Built 20061130-redmenace. Extreme slowdown in first mission when Belisarius explodes. I use latest mvp. I'm not sure if it is loading of special effect or just high memory usage (unnecessary of course) | ||||

Hmmm. No, not exactly. Seems to be fixed for most ships. Cruisers, corvettes, jaggernauts explode smoothly. But Orions cause slowdown |

Are you using mv_adveffects? The super-high detail shockwave in that vp is notorious for causing slowdowns precisely when big ships explode, even on fairly high end systems. |

Need to know if this is simply caused by mv_adveffects or if it's a bug, so changing status to Feedback. Will close it in a week if noone can confirm that this is in fact a bug. |

Closing, unable to reproduce it. Since noone else has reported this, and the original poster appears to have abandoned it, I'm assuming it was the shockwaves. |
