i forgot the following: after this error, the process will remain inactive (like a minimised program) in the taskbar, and when i click it, i see a blur of something maximizing/minimizing. after that, i have to alt+tab out to another program, and then i can shut it of using ctrl+alt+del. i want to note that ctrl+alt+del doesn't work when FS2 is the active window, only when you first alt+tabbed out you can get into the task manager. |

What movie files do you have in your freespace dir? Do you have intro.mve or intro.avi or neither? I will provide you with a test exe as soon as I can. |

a hacked intro mve of 1kb. it's aproxametly the same as HOTU. |

Your hacked mve will be causing the problem I reckon. You can also use -dnoshowvid to disable that code. I could change to the code to ignore bad movies but why are you using a hacked mve in the first place? Please upload a copy to the database. |

i'm using a hacked one because i don't have a real one. and i didn;t buy the re-release because they don't seem to ship here. anyhow, i'll upload it tomorow, i just got in to that PXO game :) |

Lets not turn this report into a forum. I dont need to know about PXO etc. In your own time please confirm that the hacked mve is causing your problem and upload it to mantis. |

here is the file, how do i check to see if it is indeed the problem? i have no copy of any avi files at hand, and i don't have a real version of this. |

Just take the file away and run it without. |

using -dnoshowvid solves the problem, i'll try disabling the file in a minute. edit: turning of dnoshowvid and removing the file let's me launch the game. edited on: 03-06-04 06:09 |

OK, I will change it to fail gracefully if it encounters a stub. Ie, it will let you into the game. |
