| Summary | 0001249: not all animations showing | ||||
| Description | In briefing screens where things and events are being explained in the retail campaign, the GTVA logo shows where there should be other animations. I am not sure if coders are aware; if so, I apologize. If not, it has now been made known. | ||||
| Additional Information | v3.6.9 final, Mediavp v3.6.8 Zeta, windows xp pro sp2 | ||||

The only animations that have shown so far are for weapons. So far I've seen the actual animations for: Stiletto II Morning Star EMP I'll add more as I progress in the retail campaign. |

Are you sure you have a GOOD retail FS2 installation? Briefing animations are in retail tango1_fs2.vp, tango2_fs2.vp and tango3_fs2.vp. MediaVPs do not change the in any way. |

When I installed FS2 retail, I did not include the animations from the 3 sections of the campaign to save space as they would run off of the CD images I have on another partition of my hard drive. I don't know why the game isn't reading the CDs (actually the images) to get the animations. Instead, I'm getting the GTVA logo. |
The issue actually is that the game wasn't running the animations from the CDs (in my case CD images through Daemon Tools), which FSO wasn't doing. Since then I have reinstalled the game with the animations and have yet to see if that corrects the issue, for I have not played the game in several weeks. |

Could you please check of it works now? I'd like to close this one. |
The problem is that the game was not spooling the animations from the CD [images] like it should have. I have checked to see if installing the animations fixed the problem, and yes it did. Please make sure it will pull them off the CDs or CD images if they're not installed. |

First, this is not a mediaVP problem, and therefore shouldn't be assigned to DaBrain. Second, I'm not 100% certain, but I think that the only things ever streamed off the CDs were movies. Not music, cbanis, or anything else. Third, this is almost too trivial to fix. It would affect an extremely small subset of people, and it's easily remedied by installing the tango VPs. So, closing. |
