| Summary | 0001125: Crash on Transcendent TransE3M9.fs2 - might be AI related | ||||
| Description | When playing the mission TransE3M9 in the campaign mode of Transcendent my FS2 goes wherever... when using the debug build it gives me this as last line (everything aboth is nothing else than the reports on what it has loaded before): "Int3(): From c:\temp\fs2_open_3_6_9.t\code\ai\aiturret.cpp at line 1280'" | ||||
| Additional Information | The sound of an opening warp can be heard right before the crash... maybe a new ship just warping in causes this to happen | ||||

FS2_O in use: fs2_open_3_6_9.exe (dated 29th August '06) - "Transcendent" is being run as mod Sys Stats: Pentium 4 1.82 GHz 768 MB RAM Ati Radeon 9200 SE Windows XP |

The line numbers don't match up directly for me (I no longer have the source for that particular build), but I think this is a beam related error. In particular, a ship hasn't been given the beam-free/beam-free-all order before it tries to fire a beam weapon. This would just be a mission error though, not something wrong with the code. If you don't mind, try to reproduce this error with the rc7dot8 build, since I still have the unmodified source for that, and see if the line number changes to about line 1301. If it does then this is just a mission error and something for the maker of Transcendent to fix. |

* BUMP * Any update here? I'll just assume that this is the bug I'm thinking about (a mission bug) and close this unless I hear otherwise. |

no update.... I looked through the mission file and can not find anything which could cause this bug yet - will continue to search ASAP But I've not been able to find the build you were refering to either (maybe a link would be helpful) |

You can find 3.6.9 RC builds here: http://icculus.org/~taylor/fso/testing/ The last one is RC7.9 |

*raises single eyebrow* facinating this bug seems to be unique to the 3.6.9 debug variant only (I switched to your build I dled from your link and again to the normal 3.6.9 build without issue...) this file can be cosidered as closed now I guess |
