From CP5670:

"The game exits to the main hall just as the supernova message is sent. After
doing some tests I isolated the problem to the usage of the end-campaign
operator in that mission just as the supernova starts up. The end-campaign
thing is supposed to immediately dump the player into the main hall, so
there is actually a bug in that mission, but what confuses me is that it
worked fine before (i.e. it ignored the end-campaign). Maybe there was also
originally an issue with end-campaign, so the two bugs sort of canceled each
other out. Anyway, the bug can easily be fixed by editing the mission file
to remove that operator or make it occur later; we could include include a
fixed version in the next FSO VP."

Urg. I thought I fixed end-campaign at one point, but maybe I'm wrong. And for some reason the supernova thing worked for me.

We're going to have to look this over carefully to see exactly what's happening.

Reproduced and confirmed. When the supernova warning appears, FS2_Open hangs for about ten seconds and then quits back to the Aquitaine main hall.

This doesn't happen for me. It shouldn't happen, since I specifically coded the bugfix to work properly with the old FS2 stuff.

Are you running the main Freespace 2 single-player campaign or a different campaign?

I'm running the FS2 main campaign. I used -allslev and the mission simulator to get into the mission and reproduce the bug... I had to reformat last week and lost all documents, including my pilot files. Recovery will be slow, to say the least.

Im wondering if it only happens if you make use of the -allslev command line,
if so then the bug is not nearly so serious.

If -allslev is used, that probably means the game isn't using the campaign structure, which means the code is functioning normally. So this should probably be closed.

I'll play it through the campaign to see if it's any different

Thats exactly what Im going to do.
I will close the bug if that is the case.

Yes, its using allslev that does it.
Closing bug.
