| Summary | 0001047: Game cannot play more than one beam charge sound at once | ||||
| Description | I have attached a test mission where this problem can be seen. The beam charge up and power down sounds all cut off each other rather than overlapping. This occurs in RC7 with both the generic software and generic hardware OpenAL device settings in the launcher. This is actually causing a lot of trouble in one of my cutscenes (where the beam sounds seem to be getting cut off right away and are basically not playing at all), despite various hacks I've tried to get around the problem. This issue may also apply to other types of sounds, but the beams are where I've noticed it most prominently. | ||||

I'm probably going to close this as a duplicate of another bug (the flyby sound cut off one), but I'll have a look at the code first to be sure it's the same issue. I'm working on new sound code which should take care of this stuff but that's a post-3.6.9 thing and is NOT a small thing to fix. |
