Summary | 0003167: Offscreen indicator does not stay on center monitor
Description | Revision eff6d40 from June 18 added my fix for triple-monitor setups (thread here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=89262.0). However, one thing that my fix didn't do is keep the offscreen indicator on the center monitor, simply because I couldn't figure out how to do this. This means that players using such setups may need to look far to the left or right to see the offscreen indicator, regardless of how much of the screen area is actually used by the HUD. If FSO is to support triple-monitor setups properly, this bug will need to be fixed.
Steps To Reproduce | It's possible to test this issue with a single standard monitor: Use the -center_res parameter with a resolution that has an aspect ratio that's narrower than that of the screen resolution. So, for example, if your screen resolution is 1920x1080 (a 16:9 resolution), you can use "-center_res 1440x1080" to limit the HUD to the center 4:3 area. After you've done that (or if you are using a triple-monitor setup), load any mission that lets you target something (almost any mission will do). The HUD gauges should utilize only part of the screen width, leaving empty space on the sides. Target something, then turn your ship so that your target goes off the left or right edge of the screen. The offscreen indicator is supposed to stay in the HUD area; instead, it leaves that area and goes to the edge of the screen.
